About its initiators

The group of people who started KASM come from far and and few in between. The one binding element in the group is the fact that they are all worried about the industrial interest in the black Iron ore sands around the coasts and the secrecy that surrounds the companies that apply for permits to prospect around the the New Zealand coasts.
They decided to work together to investigate the rumours and to bring into the open the facts and the far reaching consequences of the proposed mining of the huge volume of natural resources covered by our national waters.

They feel that the profit made with mining the sand does not measure up to the the wanton and irreversible destruction of an equally huge ecosystem.
